Obituary: Published in the Mt. Vernon Signal on 5 February 1904 in Mount Vernon, Rockcastle County, Kentucky. 57 Thomas Taylor, age about 50, died Tuesday morning of Pneumonia fever. About a month ago, he was taken sick and for several days it was a hard struggle between life and death but he soon began to get better and got up able to go about the house. On last Sunday about 1 o'clock, he was suddenly taken worse and soon became unconscious, from when he never did rally. While it is known that he ate something that gave him the backset, yet it is only left to surmise as to what it was, but the general supposition is that it was catsup as he was very fond of it and a large jar half full was sitting in the room where he was. The burial took place Wednesday at the Taylor burying ground.
