Obituary: Published in the Mt. Vernon Signal in June 1923 in Mount Vernon, Rockcastle County, Kentucky. 76 Mrs. George W. Riichert died at her home at Anderson, Indiana last Thursday. She was formerly Miss Martha Ann Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Taylor, of this city.

Her early life was spent in this section where she attended the public schools and Sunday school. Here she united with the Christian church at the age of 14 years. She was a teacher in the Sunday school.

March 1903, she moved with the family to La Pelle, Indiana. She was married at Mount Vernon December 25, 1887, to George W. Riichert. To this union were given six children, Charles F., Mary Katherine, deceased 1891, Geor. Albert, William Benjamin, Rosa M. Thompson and Robert Ray.

Besides her husband and children she leaves four brothers and two sisters: John C. Taylor, Mrs. Lula Fralick, Robert B. Taylor and Milton Taylor of Mount Vernon, Alfred Taylor of Brodhead and Mrs. Nannie Harrison of Lockland, Ohio.

Mrs. Riichert became a member of the Rebecca & Pocahontas lodge at La Pelle, Indiana and the Ladies of the Golden Eagle & Royal Neighbors lodge at Anderson. She was also a member of the Relief Corp. Holding offices and being a very active worker in all these lodges.

Mrs. Riichert's friendly disposition made her much beloved and esteemed by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance.

She was especially devoted to her home and family, performing every duty and meeting every obligation with unusual energy and care. No home was ever presided over by a more industrious and faithful wife and mother. Her work has been well performed and is a monument to her fidelity and intelligence.

She passes away, with the respect and admiration of a hose of friends, to a well earned rest.

During the World War she gave three sons to the service of the country and when one of her boys was stricken in a southern hospital she went to his aid and nursed him back to health and it is said that besides ministering to her own son, she saved the lives of other soldier boys too. No words can fully tell the splendid work and services of this good woman.

Funeral services were held at her late residence number 2010 South Main Street by the Rev. W. L. Lundy and the remains were brought here to the Taylor cemetery and laid to rest Sunday in the old home burying ground beside the dust of her daughter, Mary and other relatives and friends.
