She was listed as Nancy J. Lanier, wife, age 48, born Oct 1851 in Alabama, married 30 years, mother of 14 children, 10 living. [The ten living children and one of the four deceased children have been identified by name.]

This is Hettie's address in the 1920 census so it seems that Nancy Jane and Fred were living with Hettie at the time of his draft registration on 9 Sep 1918.

The funeral of Mrs. Nancy J. Lanier, who was taken by death in tlanta on Tuesday afternoon, was held at Hilview Cemetery this morning at 11 o'clock with Dr. John S. Jenkins, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating.

The body of Mrs. Lanier was sent to this city from Atlanta where she died for interment. At the time of her death she was living with her daughter, Mrs. Lillie Roberts, Hunter-Owen Funeral directors were in charge of arrangements.

Nancy married Joseph Smith LANIER, son of William Washington "Buck" LANIER and Charlotte T. JACKSON, ca 1869.²³⁴³ (Joseph Smith LANIER was born on 2 June 1847 in Alabama or Georgia ²³⁴⁷ and died on 1 May 1909 ²³⁴⁷.)
