Alt. Birth: 2 August 1894. This is the birth date on James' headstone but since he was listed as 11 years old in the 1900 census, he was more likely born in 1888. 2390

Military Draft Registration: James was living at 649 Chestnut Street in Atlanta. According to the record he was born 18 Sep 1892 in Chambers County, Alabama. Working at Eppusitian Cotton Mills in Atlanta, single, supporting his mother (name not listed), description medium height, blue eyes and light hair. Also noted he had tuberculosis.
